Unexplained death near Levin

Levin police are investigating an unexplained death of a 48-year-old man on Saturday.

Detective Marc Hercock said the man was staying at a Bainesse Rd property in rural Rongotea, where he was found dead by the home owner at about 8.30am.

The home owner called emergency services.

Police have carried out a scene examination and are making further inquires to piece together the man's last movements.

A post mortem should be completed by tomorrow night.

"At this stage the death remains unexplained," Mr Hercock said.
