Once upon a time there were two Wellington women who wanted to have a great time at the Sevens.
So Jessica Henneker, left, and Natasha Carroll ordered some Little Red Riding Hood costumes online, and prepared to brave the dark confines of Westpac Stadium.
"We love them - we love the hoods, and the bows and everything," said Carroll, 25.
Six Little Red Riding Hoods would be heading to the sevens. With big bad wolves an ever-present threat, the pair had decided to be extra safe and bring some of their own.
"There's also about four guys going, dressed as big bad wolves," Carroll said.
"We'll be watching a bit of rugby, meeting heaps of new people and seeing everyone else's costumes. The rugby probably won't be a highlight, but we'll definitely be enjoying it at times."
The pair - both administrators in Wellington - also planned to bake hot cross buns to hand out to hungry punters.
Henneker, 24, said it was important to keep hydrated and slap on plenty of sunscreen. But most important was a good attitude and lots of energy.
"Just having a great time, meeting lots of new people. It's such a great day."
Both women have previously dressed as genies, 1950s pin-up girls and superheroes. But they hoped their new outfits would take the cake.
