HOPEFUL: Kelley Wigton has contacted a 30-year-old Wellingtonian to say 'he's it' for the Sevens.

The "fun California girl" looking for a Sevens date clearly underestimated her appeal.

When Kelley Wigton put out a call on Trade Me for a rugby and beer-loving bloke to accompany her to the weekend's festivities, she expected a couple of thousand views.

But after The Dominion Post reported her quest yesterday, the 26-year-old was overwhelmed by almost 15,000 views.

"That was when I finally said ‘Enough,' and had to shut it down," she said.

About 200 people contacted her, and she thought about 50 were "genuine".

She had chosen a 30-year-old Wellington man.

He had accepted her offer, and the pair were to meet up today.

With so many potential suitors, she had made her choice based on the tone of their messages.

"I just tried to look for people who were genuinely interested... If they didn't say anything catchy, then it was like, 'Next'."
