Normal train services have resumed after a car accident near the railway line in Waikanae halted peak-hour rail services between Waikanae and Paraparaumu around 5pm today.
Emergency services attended at the scene, on the corner of Te Moana Rd and Main Rd.
Police said a car had rolled and hit a traction pole. As a precautionary measure the line was closed temporarily.
A Tranz Metro spokeswoman said buses had replaced trains between Waikanae and Paraparaumu until the accident was cleared around 5.45pm.
