Two hurt in fire at elderly care home

Two people suffered minor burns after a small fire broke out at the Woburn Elderly Care facility this afternoon.

Fire and ambulance were called to the fire on Wai-iti Cres, Lower Hutt in the care centre's recreation room just after 12pm.

The minor fire was extinguished, and the two patients were treated at the scene.

The cause of the fire was not yet known, the Fire Service said.
