A collision between two cars on the northbound on-ramp to State Highway Two near the bottom of the Ngauranga Gorge is causing delays to traffic flows at the bottom of the gorge.

Police communications team leader Hector Douglas said the nose to tail accident occurred about 4:50pm this afternoon.

"The vehicles have been cleared off the roadway but there are still delays in the area," Mr Douglas said.

What do you think of the white peace poppy campaign?

I'm all for the white poppies.

I like the idea, but the timing's wrong.

It's contemptible and insulting.

I don't care.
