A man charged with importing methamphetamine which was hidden at Auckland Airport and remained unfound for four years has been remanded until April.

Dinesh Kumar Manoharan, 37, has not pleaded to two charges of importing and conspiring to import methamphetamine with Anthony Newton in February 2009.

Police today asked Wellington District Court judge Peter Butler to grant an extention of time for filing of statements which was granted. 

Manoharan was remanded in custody.
