Four car crashes are causing heavy delays for traffic leaving the capital this evening.
In the most recent incident, two cars collided in the north bound lane near the Terrace Tunnel. No one was injured, but one lane was blocked, police said.
Earlier, a two-car crash on State Highway 2 at the Ngauranga interchange blocked one lane of the northbound road.
Police said nobody was trapped but two people were treated for minor injuries.
A car also rolled on River Rd, south of Moonshine Rd, near Upper Hutt, blocking the northbound lane of State Highway 2.
A nose-to-tail crash near the Terrace Tunnel was also causing delays for south-bound traffic about 6:30pm
In a separate incident, a large truck has driven into a hole and is blocking half of Whitemans Rd, Silverstream.
"It would seem the truck has dislodged a metal plate covering road works and driven into the hole," a police spokesman said.
