A teenage boy who pointed what appeared to be a gun at a pedestrian on Newtown's Adelaide Rd is still at large.
Inspector Mike Colman said several units on foot and in patrol cars combed the Wellington suburb looking for a boy around 14 years of age, but called the search off about 4pm.
Although the gun is thought to be fake, the man who was threatened was concerned and rang the police after the incident at 3.15pm.
