A man charged with the murder of Huntly man Edward Tahakura whose body was found on an Otaki Beach has been remanded for psychiatric reports to be prepared.
The 24-year-old appeared in the High Court in Wellington via video link this morning and was remanded in custody by Justice Ron Young for two weeks with his name suppression continued.
His lawyer Paul Murray asked for the reports. A case review hearing was set down for December.
Mr Tahakura’s body was found by a member of the public on September 12.
