Posing for the perfect photograph can be dangerous, a Wellington man has discovered.
The man, 62, suffered a punctured lung and cuts to his head after tumbling ten metres down a waterfall at Percy's Reserve in Lower Hutt this afternoon.
A Wellington Free Ambulance spokesman said it was believed the man fell over the waterfall while having photographs taken at about 3pm.
Paramedics rescued the man using a "rescue wheel," which is a wheelbarrow-like contraption used for carrying patients across rough terrain.
He was taken to Wellington Hospital, where he was in a stable condition in a ward on Monday morning.
