A 68-year-old farmer has died of a suspected heart attack on his farm in rural Masterton.
Initially thought to be from a quad bike accident, the man’s death was now believed to have been due to medical reasons, Masterton police Sergeant Simon Irving said.
Police, the fire service and ambulance were called to Lees Pakaraka Rd just after 6.30pm.
The man was found next to his quad bike by a family relation, and was believed to have been spraying thistles on his property when he died.
The death would be referred to the coroner, Irving said.
