Pedestrian killed by car in Gisborne named by police

Gisborne woman Kimberly Chaval Phillips was struck by a car on Cobden Street on Friday night.

Police say a pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Gisborne on Friday night was 33-year-old Kimberly Chaval Phillips.

She was struck on Cobden St shortly after 11pm.

Police said inquiries into the circumstance surrounding the crash were continuing.

On Saturday, police said they were talking to the driver and passenger from the vehicle.
