Car with licence plate RUINED ends up on rocks on Wellington coast
Ruined by name, ruined by nature: a car with the licence plate RUINED has landed on rocks on Wellington's Miramar Peninsula.
The blue Subaru Impreza landed on the rocks near Scorching Bay during the weekend.
The wreck was the result of a crash on Massey Rd shortly after midday on Sunday, when the driver, who was carrying a passenger, lost control on a bend, police said.
One person suffered neck and back pain, while the other had head and neck pain.

Further around the same road, a burnt-out Mercedes Benz sat for weeks beside Shelly Bay Rd till it was finally removed on Tuesday.
The Mercedes and the RUINED Subaru are being investigated by police.
A spokeswoman said police had been aware of the burnt-out Mercedes for several weeks, and it seemed to have arrived there on May 10.
There did not appear to be anything suspicious in the fire, and police had been in touch with the owner.
