Apple iPhones and iPads are the most popular searched items on Trade Me in the lead-up to Christmas for a third year running, the online auction operator says.
Adidas and Karen Walker clothing and mountainbikes made the top five most-searched items, but Country Road clothing and kayaks became old hat in 2013.
Golf gear, Lego, Star Wars paraphernalia, trampolines, outdoor furniture, dogs and puppies, and barbecues rounded out the top-10 searches, showing a trend towards outdoor activities to follow Christmas lunch.
Trade Me spokesman Paul Ford said six of the most-searched Christmas ideas on the website had an outdoor flavour.
"Popular high-energy gift options include mountainbikes and trampolines, and adidas clothing has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity to land at No 2."
He said golf gear made the list for the first time, while outdoor furniture was popular in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
