A woman has been airlifted to Rotorua Hospital with serious injuries following a car crash near Taupo.
Emergency services were called to SH1 at Oraunui, north of Taupo, about 9.30am after a car carrying a trailer clipped a truck and rolled.
BayTrust Rescue Helicopter base manager Barry Vincent said there were two people in the car, with a 62-year-old Wellington woman needing to be airlifted to Rotorua Hospital with suspected chest injuries.
Emergency services closed the road to allow the rescue helicopter to land and to investigate the crash but the road was open again.
The truck driver was not injured, Vincent said.
