A woman has been airlifted to hospital after an accident at Whakaki, near Wairoa.

The 49 year old was a passenger in an SUV with a trailer which rolled into a ditch around 11.30am today.

She suffered neck injuries in the crash and was airlifted by the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital for further treatment.
