Levin house fire 'suspicious'

GUTTED: The house was badly damaged in the fire.

A house fire in Horowhenua has been confirmed as suspicious.

The fire started in a Rugby St, Levin house about 11pm yesterday. 

The house was fully ablaze when two fire crews arrived, a Fire Service spokeswoman said.

Nobody was thought to be inside the house.

Fire safety investigators returned to the scene today and confirmed the cause of the fire was suspicious.

The CIB is investigating.
