Small quake felt in Wellington

A small earthquake measuring 3.8 magnitude has been felt in Wellington.

GeoNet has placed the epicentre 30km east of Seddon in Marlborough at a 20 kilometre depth. The quake struck at 11:24am.

The South Island area was the centre of a major quake felt across the lower North Island in July last year which caused damage in Seddon and Wellington and set off multiple aftershocks.
