A former Wellington gallery owner serving more than a dozen years jail has abandoned an appeal he had filed against his convictions and sentence.
Aaron Laurence's 65 convictions included sexual violation by unlawful sexual connection, doing indecent acts and the possession, making, and distribution of objectionable material.
In May last year he was sentenced to serve at least six and a half years of a 12 years and nine months' jail term.
Laurence lodged an appeal after the usual appeal period had expired.
In a decision issued today the Court of Appeal said Laurence had a range of complaints alleging police misconduct.
Later though he abandoned the appeal.
However the court noted that in the process the Crown and Laurence agreed that the judge's sentencing remarks had wrongly described the age of one of the victims and how Laurence had come to know others.
He had filmed boys he was sexually abusing and posted the recordings on the internet.
The offending took place between 1999 and 2011 on eight boys.
