A woman was injured when her car crashed on State Highway 1 north of Wellington this morning.

The crash happened about 6.15am.

The car struck a barrier as it headed north, just past the motorway off-ramp to Johnsonville, a police communications spokesman said.

The northbound lane was blocked after the crash, which caused some delays.

The scene has now been cleared.

A Wellington Free Ambulance spokesman said a woman in her 30s was taken to Wellington Hospital with moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, a car crashed into the bank on the Upper Hutt side of the Rimutaka Hill Rd this morning.

The accident was reported at about 10:15am.

Emergency services were responding, a police communications spokesman said.

It was not yet clear if anyone was hurt.

Do you have faith in police solving burglaries?

Yes - there's no faulting their commitment.

Mostly, but they are under-resourced.

Sort of - depends on when and where.

Not really - clearly a low priority for them.

Absolutely not.

Not sure - luckily I've never been burgled.
