A Wellington train line has re-opened after it was closed by a slip this morning.

The slip came down on the Johnsonville line between 6am and 6.30am today, between Wadestown and Johnsonville, a Tranz Metro spokeswoman said.

''The first train made it through OK, but the second service saw some rubble on the track.''

All services were suspended while a track team worked to clear the slip.

The line was ready again for the 10:30am train from Johnsonville to Wellington.

The cause of the slip would be investigated, with recent rain a likely culprit, the spokeswoman said.

Wellington has been soaked by constant rain since Monday.

The wet weather is predicted to continue until at least Monday.

About 100,000 passengers travel on the 10.5-kilometre Johnsonville line every month.

What effect will a potential ban on booze at Rugby Sevens 2015 have on you?

I'd no longer go ... what's the point?

I'd buy a ticket, with rugby the priority again.

Ban or no ban, I'm still going.

I'd rather watch 'Wheel of Fortune' on a 24/7 loop than 7s.
