3.8-magnitude earthquake in Hawke's Bay

A small earthquake struck offshore near Mahia Peninsula in the Hawke's Bay this afternoon.

The 3.8 magnitute quake happened 60 kilometres south-east of Wairoa, at a depth of 69km, at 3.44pm. 

Two people reported feeling the quake on Geonet's website, describing it as "light" and "weak".
