Neighbours raised the alarm when a two-bedroom flat went up in flames this morning.

Firefighters were now working to dampen down the fire which started on Seddon Cr about 9am in the Napier suburb of Marewa.

The occupant - a woman - escaped the fire unharmed.


It was well alight when fire fighters arrived.
