A seven-year-old boy reported missing in Hastings this afternoon has been found safe and well.

Ged Adams went missing from the New World supermarket car park in Flaxmere, eastern Hastings, about 4.15pm this afternoon.

The boy has now been found. He wandered down to nearby shops and was found by a family friend soon after. 

Police inspector Chris Tate said he may be ''in trouble'', but he was now safe and well.
