A person has died in a two-car crash in Hawke’s Bay this afternoon.

The crash happened on Napier Rd, Havelock North at 3.10pm today, police said.

Two cars were involved, each with a sole occupant.

The driver of one car was taken to Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital in Hastings with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other car died at the scene.The Police Serious Crash Unit were at the scene.

The road is blocked until the accident is cleared.
