Police have released the name of a man killed in a motorcycle crash in Hawke's Bay on Saturday.

Barry Ernest John Pascoe, 64, of Napier, died after a crash off State Highway 2 and through a fence near Putorino, south of Wairoa.

Emergency services were called to the scene about10am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
