A 70-year-old Chinese tourist has been found safe and well in the Hutt Valley.

He had been on holiday for a week and went missing after going for a walk about 7pm last night.

A spokesperson for Police Communications said the gentleman was found safe and well about 11pm last night in the Trentham area.
