A tarpaulin blew from a truck onto the windscreen of a ute, which crashed on State Highway 2 in Lower Hutt this morning.

The driver of the ute was not injured, police said.

The accident happened at 11am today in the southbound lane of State Highway 2 near the Petone on ramp.

Traffic was not being affected and the scene was cleared within 30 minutes.
