A small series of earthquakes has been felt in Wellington this afternoon.

Geonet reported a magnitude 3.5 shake about 3:40pm centred 10 kilometres south of Upper Hutt at a depth of 8km.

The shake and two other smaller tremors were felt as mild swaying in central Wellington.
