Police are looking for a four-wheel-drive that hit another car then took off towards Upper Hutt this morning.

Acting Senior Sergeant Glenn Barnett said the dark green vehicle, thought to be a Mitsubishi Pajero, clipped another car northbound on State Highway 2 near the Haywards Hill Rd about 6am today.

It then clipped a power pole. The car that was hit also hit the power pole.

There were no injuries.

The 4WD did not stop and was last seen heading towards Upper Hutt. People who spotted the vehicle are asked to call Lower Hutt police on 560 2669 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
