The two men charged with murdering Alonsio Iafeta Matalasi at Petone in August have pleaded not guilty.

Dillin Pakai, 19, and Shane Pierre Harrison, 43, entered the pleas to the murder charge and a charge of discharging a firearem with reckless disregard, in the High Court at Wellington today.

Mr Matalasi, 25, known as Sio, was shot dead in Petone on August 22.

Pakai and Harrison have already pleaded not guilty to charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, burglary, and discharging a firearm with reckless disregard.

All five charges are due to be heard together at a trial tentatively set for next September.

Justice Ron Young remanded Pakai and Harrison in custody for another hearing in February.
