An elderly dementia patient who went missing from Hutt Hospital has been found at his Upper Hutt home.

Police appealed to the public for sightings of the 73-year-old man after he was last seen at the hospital at 1pm.

A Police spokesman said they found him after making a third call to his Plateau Rd home.

He was uncertain whether he had taken a bus or whether he might have caught a lift from the hospital.
