The two men accused of having shot dead a Petone man last August have formally pleaded not guilty.

The plea was entered through the lawyer for Dillin Pakai and Shane Pierre Harrison in the High Court at Wellington today.

Pakai, 19, and Harrison, 43, are charged with murdering Alonsio (Sio) Matalasi, 25.

Justice Ron Young scheduled their trial for September.
