'Struggling' alleged victims want cash back

Alleged loan scammer Kerry Buddle was hounded by alleged victims after she made a brief appearance in court.

Buddle, 32, faces 10 charges of obtaining by deception and appeared at Porirua District Court this morning.

She was remanded on bail to reappear next month.

Leaving court, she was pursued by a group of her alleged victims, including Jenny Twist who followed her to her car at North City Shopping Centre.

Buddle ignored the group and strode on determinedly to the car park.

The alleged scams relate to the former Kapiti mortgage broker persuading clients to lend her money after they had mortgaged their properties.

Five people have claimed they had to sell their homes because Buddle did not repay them.

Each charge carries a jail term of up to seven years, if proven.
