A teenager was beaten with a bottle at a party in Raumati early this morning, prompting a police call-out.

The youth was treated at the scene by ambulance, while the party continued.

Senior Constable Mike Tahere said up to 40 young people were drunk at the party.

"There were 30 to 40 people in attendance. You can probably describe them as young people. It appears quite a few people there were drunk.

"It appears one male was bottled at the party."

The teen suffered minor injuries.

No-one was arrested, nor was the party shut down.
