An 80 year old Paraparaumu woman, suffering from dementia, who went missing yesterday, has been found in Brooklyn, Wellington. 

Elizabeth Maxwell, known as Betty, went missing from her Gilford Dr home at about 10am yesterday and police had concerns for her safety.

Senior Sergeant Anita Dixon said she was found at about 10pm last night trying to get into parked cars looking for her deceased husband.

She is now staying with family members.
