Two meth dealers were caught after Lower Hutt police and the armed offenders squad raided houses this morning.

A 37-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man have been jointly charged with conspiring to sell and selling methamphetamine and were scheduled to appear in the Lower Hutt District Court this afternoon.

Tactical coordinator Senior Sergeant Steve Harwood says police executed a search warrant at a Waiwhetu address where the woman was arrested, and at a Newlands address where the man was caught.

''Members of the Armed Offenders Squad were used at one address and members of the Police Support Unit at the other,'' he says.

''We were able to carry out these warrants because of valuable information that we received from the public regarding suspicious activity.''

More charges are expected to be laid against the pair.

''We will continue actively targeting drug dealers and organised criminals,'' Mr Harwood said.
