The mayor was attired in his traditional Scottish kilt and the formal regalia of the Wallace clan, which was bought from local firm Kildonan Highland House.

The garden was decorated in Scottish accessories and accessories to reflect the brides' purple theme.

Photographer Ross de Rouffignac used Petone Beach as a backdrop for the wedding photos.

Mayor Wallace told Hutt News that it was important to use local firms and products, and he was pleased that with his busy schedule he finally got time to tie the knot.

Wife Linda had a different take on events.
