Hutt Old Boys Marist's unbeaten record in the Swindale Shield was derailed on Saturday when the side went down 35-13 to Norths.

Despite the home ground advantage and a Norths player being sent off, HOBM was unable to capitalise on the lion's share of possession.

Taleta Tupuola scored, and fullback Glen Walters put over the conversion and slotted two penalties.

Despite the loss, HOBM remains second on the table, conceding to Shield leaders Upper Hutt only on "points for" midway through the season.

The two Hutt Valley sides will hit up at the Hutt Rec this Saturday at 3pm for a much-anticipated showdown.

In other games at the weekend, Wainuiomata drew with Old Boys United 15-all and Petone thrashed cellar-dwellers Rimutaka 83-3.
