Calling all train enthusiasts.

One of the highlights at the Tawa School Fair on Saturday will be the chance to have a go at controlling a G scale model train engine.

G scale trains are larger than typical train models but not large enough to ride on.

There will be a variety of things for children to have rides on, such as miniature ponies, MG cars and motorbikes.

Other activities and entertainment include face painting, hole-in-one golf and toss the toilet roll. A favourite activity is always the spooky house.

The children have also been busy creating lots of items for sale, including pet rocks and driftwood art.

The cake stall is being sponsored by Highlander Condensed Milk and there will also be the Heller's barbecue, Hell Pizza by the slice and homemade curry.

Tawa School Fair, Saturday, November 24, 11pm-2pm, at the school grounds, Oxford St.
