More than 300 rowers took to the water on Porirua Harbour for the Goodwill Regatta recently, with local rowers performing with distinction.

After having to cancel the day's rowing on October 27, the relative calm the following day allowed for 31 races to take place.

Of these, Porirua Rowing Club won 14, came second nine times and were third in five races. Despite these excellent results, PRC came in third of the six clubs overall, behind Star Boating Club and Wellington Rowing Club.

One of the organisers, Robert Flett, said it was a fantastic day of racing that was made possible by a huge number of volunteers and sponsors, along with umpires, judges, boat drivers and starters.
