Eight of Kapiti Golf Club's nine new flags and pins were stolen from the course on Saturday night, along with a concrete ball washer.

Club manager Graeme Stevens said the flags and pins were bought only about a month ago for the club's open tournament.

"I said to [Senior Sergeant] Alasdair Macmillan that maybe someone is trying to set up a mini-golf course or something. It's bloody frustrating for us."
