A generator was stolen from Silica Glass Crushers in Otaki last week and batteries were stolen the following night.

Sergeant Slade Sturmey said thieves snipped the locks to a container at the site off Riverbank Rd overnight Thursday, then took the generator.

He said the black hydraulic, Briggs and Stratton-powered generator was worth about $9000.

The following night two 12-volt truck batteries were also taken from the business.

Anyone with information is asked to call Otaki police on 364 7366.
