Waikanae songwriter Ryan Edwards will be performing at Project Born, a fundraising fashion show for the Neonatal Trust on Saturday.

Produced by Weta founder Sir Richard Taylor, the show combines music, theatre, dance and body painting with high-end lingerie.

Kapiti dancer Tamihana Paurini will also perform in Project Born along with Kapiti vocalists Aotea Cornelius, Felicity Wait and Lisa Tagaloa.

Ryan Edwards said it is great to see Kapiti talent in the show, which includes a cast and crew of over 200 people.

"There's a great local connection to a show that is very unique. It's not often you get to work with the likes of Sir Richard Taylor, and it's a real privilege to be able to showcase my music at such a level, in support of such an important cause."

He will perform an original song specially composed for the show, after he was approached by Neonatal Trust chief executive Michael Meads.

The show opens tonight at 8pm, and is on until Saturday at Shed 11, Wellington waterfront.

Tickets are $75-$375 from projectborn.co.nz.
