Timely promotion for Cunliffe Editorial: Lessons to be learned from pool Consents don't make highway Was Cunliffe the answer? How nice it was of Noel Robinson to travel all the way from Auckland to give advice to the poor peasants of Kapiti on the joys a wonderful expressway would bring us (Fast lane for growth, November 8).

Strange though how he only mentions the so called benefits of this with no mention of the destruction, pollution, loss of environment and unaffordability that trail in its wake.

I suggest that he takes a closer look at this project from all angles and not only at one that may possibly suit big business but would leave the rest of us to suffer the consequences.
