Kapiti Coast Softball's presidents team have won gold at the Pan- Pacific Masters Games in Australia.

Playing in the over- 35 division four competition on Australia's Gold Coast, the presidents team played six games on their way to the final, where they beat Australian team Vikings 5-2.

The Kapiti team also won gold at the games in 2008, in division 5.

Club captain Willy Palmer said the team have attended the event four times, finishing fourth in their first try in 2004, and third in 2006.

In local matches, the Kapiti Coast women's premier 2 team continued their unbeaten run, beating Poneke- Kilbirnie 9-2.

Palmer said the women have now won three in a row, and will play Hutt Valley Marist this Sunday, who beat Kapiti's other team on Saturday, 9-3.

The Premier 2 men's team lost 2-1 to Paremata-Plimmerton, while the 2A and 2C men had wins over Johnsonville and Miramar, respectively.
