A Manners Mall bus-stop caught the brewing fever yesterday, part of a Wellington in a Pint initiative.
For the last two weeks, Wellington advertising agency Clemenger BBDO had been asking locals how they'd describe their city as a beer.
Some of the suggestions have been Bohemian Armpit a hint of cumin and patchouli; Bucket Fountain Brew one sip and you'll hallucinate; and Black Umbrella it's dark and it'll blow you away.
Clemenger account manager Cristin Waite said the suggestions would be used to inspire Wellington home brewers to go and brew for the next few weeks.
''We [the company] are going to brew our own brew inside an ad shell for a good couple of weeks,'' she said.
Ms Waite said that though they were not experts in brewing, in the spirit of the competition everyone should give it a go.
''Whether the brew is going to taste any good at the end, I have no idea.''
Dan Moth, copywriter (and part-time head brewer for Clemenger), made his beer at the company office in Kent Tce yesterday. He then put it in a bus-stop in Manners St to brew for the next four to six weeks.
He suggested his beer might be called Bad Manners - a play on the street name.
The project will end on June 10, when four winners will be chosen. The winners will be partnered with Wellington's best craft breweries to refine their recipes.
The product will then be bottled and packaged in four packs and will on the market in July.
