Jason Clark could go down in history as every social drinker's biggest hero.
Mr Clark is the drinks consultant and bartender at Betty's Function House and Bar. He has also created a way to prevent hangovers.

He said he came up with the idea about nine years ago when he was working in the bar scene in Wanaka.
"I realised I was wasting too many beautiful days sleeping in [with a hangover].
"I started researching hangovers and what I could buy from the pharmacy to fix them.
"What I found was there were too many reactions in the body and I had to buy all these different things. It was expensive buying so many pills and things.
"So I started looking internationally for products to cover it all. I tried them all, then figured I could actually make something much better."
Mr Clark said he consulted with pharmacists, scientists and naturopaths to work out what would do what, and how each ingredient would work.
Once he finalised the formula, he approached one of New Zealand's largest pharmaceutical companies. With its help, some tweaks were made and a batch prepared for testing.
Mr Clark said he roped all his friends into testing, which was not too hard.
"The hard thing was that to do testing, we had to create the same scenario for everybody. How much and what you eat, try to get people drinking the same things, then having the same amount of sleep at the end of the night."
It took about 18 months of testing, but the final product had been working well and he had received a lot of positive feedback, he said.
Equalize is 100 per cent natural, loaded with vitamins, minerals, electrolytes antioxidants, salts, sugars and herbs that the body needs to prevent a hangover.
"It's not a miracle cure. We can't cure you if you get absolutely trashed. But after a solid night, it loads your body up with all this goodness to help your body rehydrate, replenish those vitamins, and can also help to prevent and repair damage to your liver."
Equalize comes in a powdered form and is mixed with a glass of soda water and taken before you go to bed at night.
"In the morning the damage is done - it's too late. It's all about prevention rather than cure."
Equalize is sold in Wellington at Betty's Function House and Bar and Moore Wilsons or online at equalize.net.nz.
