More than half of Wellingtonians re-gift their Christmas presents, according to daily deal site GrabOne.

GrabOne surveyed 1449 New Zealanders about the way they prepared for Christmas and what they did with their gifts.

The survey found 42 per cent of New Zealanders have re- gifted Christmas gifts but 55 per cent of Wellingtonians did.

The survey showed 71 per cent of shoppers bought gifts online or planned to.

Most shoppers are well prepared this year, with 36 per cent buying gifts throughout the year. However, plenty of shoppers still leave it until the last minute, with 28 per cent doing their shopping in December.

Most others buy their gifts in October or November.
